Frequently asked questions

Q: How long have you been a photographer ?

A: I have been in the professional photography industry since 2002 and Victoria even longer, between us we have been a part of over 12,000 professional shoots which is mind blowing when we look back. So in short a long time :)

Q: What is your style of photography?

A: Crikey I always find this hard to be honest as I truly believe "great" wedding photography comes from the heart. That sounds so cliche but it's true - I would hang the camera up if I wasn't excited about creating the best images I could in a way that makes me happy, after all if I am happy you will LOVE the images because you should only book a photographer when you a) feel a connection with them and b) you love what they do.

If you have a wedding full of quirky images and no formals there will be perhaps a few upset family members, however a wedding full of traditional and formal photos you may well fall asleep before you get to the end of the photos.

Blending "traditional" and "natural" /  "reportage" / "documentary" etc is all in the experience we have gained over the years however if I had to describe my style in a short line i would say it was -

"Photography with soul"

Q: Who is Victoria?

A: I am pleased you asked, well Victoria is my life and business partner and the most amazing person I have ever met, she is lovely and hopefully this comes across that you can tell I think she is the best.

Victoria is the hub of our business and is not only a fantastic artist, photographer but she is the creative glue that gives our business clarity, direction and most of all a fantastic customer experience from start to finish.

See more about us here.

Q: Where are you based?

A: Currently we are based in Hinckley in Leicestershire which is literally slap bang in the middle of the Midlands.

Actually it probably isn't technically but being able to get to major cities and towns within the hour it is a fantastic base for us.

Q: Do you have a studio?

A: At the moment we do not have a studio mainly for the reason  that if we are not shooting a wedding we are editing one,  or meeting new couples who seem to prefer to chat over a cuppa and a biscuit in their own homes.

Saying that if we found the right studio location we probably would have one, it would have to be a place full of character and style. If you know anywhere please do let us know :)

Q: Are you insured?

A: Yes, yes and thrice yes - you would have to be a complete cowboy to operate without insurance. Seeing as photography is mine and Victorias income we protect it with the best insurances available. I am glad you asked but all you really need to know is the simple answer - Yes :)

Q: What equipment do you use?

A: I have lost count on the amount of times I get asked what gear do I use. To be honest and it sounds like a rubbish answer but I truly believe that people (especially photographers) worry far too much about equipment and not enough about the "soul" of the images they take. Sometimes the beauty of a photograph is it's  imperfections.

Megapixels, sensor size, lens apertures, the mark i / ii or iii version of a camera make me want to cry into my tea when I read it online, yes there is a place for tech but on a photography website for clients is so not the place.

My cameras are Canon, they are big black built like tanks, weather sealed and ready for anything - I have spare cameras and spares for the spares so quite honestly gear is a tool but you are not hiring the gear but the vision and soul that the operator provides.

I will still hear "You must have a great camera because you take awesome photographs" - Yes its true I do have great cameras but I also have a big heart behind taking the images which beats camera gear hands down every time :)
