We exhibited at The Unconventional Wedding Festival for couples looking for unique, eclectic, creative, quirky and alternative wedding inspiration.
The wedding festival was held in the stunning and picturesque grounds of Stanford Hall Estate a Grade 1 listed House nestled on the banks of the River Avon in the heart of the Midlands beautiful countryside.
Stanford Hall Wedding Venue is truly a glorious place, with 700 acres of ancient parkland, birds singing, towering green mature trees and a long driveway, a wonderful wedding venue for either a luxury, decadent, formal traditional occasion or a free spirited, festival tipi or outdoor celebration or blessing.
At the Unconventional Wedding Festival at Stanford Hall Estate Lutterworth Leicestershire, there were many different types of unique and wonderful outdoor wedding structures from fabulous tipis, alternative wedding marquees and bell tents with different themed and styled zones for alternative and creative wedding inspiration.
The festival tipi zone that the festival zone suppliers worked together to create on arrival looked really impressive, all the suppliers including ourselves worked really hard to try to make it a success, including the talented wedding planners and wedding stylists, the wedding florist, the show-stopping neon sign creator, the creative cake designer, the fantastic cheese cake cart, the lovely light-up love letters, the hand-made stationary company, the awesome outside drinks bar, the cool food van, the super Photo Booth, the alternative hand painted jackets, the fun crazy golf and of course the amazing tipi itself, all of which made our zone welcoming and a stunning, stylish, relaxing and friendly place for couples to visit. Most of the wedding suppliers were Midlands based so ideal if you were thinking of having your wedding at Stanford Hall or at a Midlands venue it was a great place to chat to so many wedding suppliers in one place over the weekend.
We set up our own mini consultation and seating area, a comfy vintage chesterfield chair, a bright yellow retro chair, a copper based table, a copper backdrop with lots of colourful ribbons and kiko frames, a Bowie frame, neon signs, our wild black mannequin lamp, lots of colourful rugs on the floor with happy retro cushions for people to sit and relax and look through our new luxury wedding albums, all brought along in our happy hire van for the weekend.
There were lots of different zones from festival vibe zone, bohemian spirit, fantasy, sci-fi, urban chic, vintage, Arabian nights, fairytale, VIP, a style inspiration & emporium, a pop up hotel & a tropical chill out zone.
Colourful, unique and alternative food & drinks vans, horse boxes & buses, fantastic ideas for eclectic, quirky and creative weddings, or outdoor and tipi weddings were setup around the estate grounds and enjoyed by visitors in the sunshine. Even though the show was quieter than expected, the grounds of the Hall were beautiful to walk around and the sun was shining, happy days :)
Most of the zones had awesome photo-booths too, from caravan photo booths, to horse box photo booths to amazing vintage camper van photo booths. Nearly all the zones had at least one wedding photographer exhibiting in each zone, so there were lots of photography companies to choose from giving couples who were looking for a photographer a fantastic variety of different styles of photography and approaches :) Good times :)
It was a year in the planning with ourselves and the Unconventional Wedding group and other suppliers, with both of us attending five networking and planning meetings towards the event, to meet other suppliers, to hear about the plans for the event, an introduction to the venue, a meeting about the Friday daytime styled shoot, and a venue visit to see the layout of the show and areas for photography for the Friday daytime styled shoot, however the styled shoot was cancelled on Friday evening for our zone.
We pride ourselves on being a company who tries its best to have integrity, who always strives for equality and inclusivity.
We have lots of wonderful photographs from the Saturday and Sunday at the The Unconventional Wedding Festival and we hope you enjoy these and all the suppliers and venue are welcome to use these using our friendly t&c’s.
Please feel free to share our slide show too, we would really love that, happy times :)
Lots of love and credit goes to the beautiful venues amazing grounds, everyones hard work and investment, all the professional, talented, equality and inclusivity ethos suppliers and the glorious sunny weather too.
If you are a couple still in search of an equality ethos, documentary & alternative wedding photographer with an edgy and creative style and a relaxed, friendly and unobtrusive approach, then we would love to hear from you.
Ed Brown Photography loves to shoot all types of wedding celebrations from festival weddings, to tipi weddings, blessings, destination weddings, outdoor wedding celebrations and beautiful and glamorous hall weddings.

STAND UP TO BULLYING
Bullying is an issue which affects people from all walks of life and can happen at any point. Research confirms the long-lasting and damaging outcomes for the individual being bullied including prolonged absenteeism from school (NatCen and Red Balloon, 2011) and negative consequences on physical and mental health even at the age of 50 (Takizawa et al, 2014). The reality is, bullying isn’t confined to the school gates and its victims aren’t limited to young people. It also exists at home and in our wider communities; in boardrooms, and lunchrooms, on highstreets, stadiums and pubs. And of course, bullying exists online: The result can be a constant, and unrelenting attack.

Why not give charitable wedding favours? You could always give different favours too along side a charitable wedding favour if you wish.
There are so many charities that you could give money to, buy pin badges, or wrist bands etc, all across the UK from Cancer Support and Research, Health Charities, Humanitarian Crisis Charities, Children's Charities and Animal Charities who all offer great alternatives to the traditional wedding favours.
Please find this excellent charity below with lots of charities to buy wedding favours from:
However there are also less well endorsed charities and smaller charities too if you wish to have a google and give to a local based charity or something that has a special resonance with you or a close one.

FESTIVAL & TIPI WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
By Victoria :)
It’s so the fashionable thing to do, have a tipi wedding, amongst the countryside where you can make your wedding celebration less formal and more personal with your wedding styling. So whether it’s Whimsical Wonderland, Boho, Hippy chic, rainbow kaleidoscope, glitter crazy, a fabulous party extravaganza, rustic, or you may have lots of personal artistic and creative styling ideas and inspiration all of your very own.
We loved exhibiting at one of Sami Tipi’s wonderful showcases full of unique and creative styling inspiration.
Have a look at our little slideshow of how wonderful and magical a tipi wedding could be with lots of styling inspiration.
We had a fantastic day looking around the Fine Arts Degree Show at Loughborough University with so many talented artists and inspiring pieces of work.
Please see a small selection of some of the artists work from the show, we think the work was amazing!

Loughborough University Fine Arts Degree Show 2017- Artist: Eloise Wyatt
Eloise Wyatt is Victoria's niece and is insanely talented and we are all super proud of her- so talented at so many things- we can’t wait to see her name in lights.
Fantastic sculptures available to purchase now or after the London exhibition.
My work investigates the relationship between the human body and mutilation.
The series I have created illustrates reproduced heads specifically been manipulated using ancient modifications such as stretching, scarification and cranial deformation.
The sculptures act as a representation of purposefully inflicted body alteration, which evidences the extreme practices that influences.
The mixed media collages are inspired by surrealist an art form that ignited fascinations with the grotesque appearance of desecrating the unblemished human form.
The abnormal and irrational anatomy of the heads possesses surreal ideologies; by portraying figures that are inconceivable in reality.
I am producing works that can only exist through imagination. Within my sculptural pieces, l have integrated the apparatus used to modify, using them as a medium to highlight the brutality that these alterations project.
The element of within my work essential: when the sculptures are observed, there will be a complexity between repulse and intrigue. Mutilation is an inconceivable act; however, the outcome may hold an unexpected sculptural beauty.

It was such a pleasure to be a part of this workshop that had an electric atmsphere, and so many laughs and friendships built. The images below are some snapshots of what I saw and felt the workshop was about.Read More
Over the past 10 years in the photography industry when we once specialised in the competitive event photography world we often photographed many black tie balls and events which were held in aid of charities. We always gave a percentage of our takings on the evening to the organiser of the event to give to the charity. Just a few of the charities we have given/contributed many thousands to are some of the following charities;
CANCER RESEARCH UK
THE SAVE THE CHILDREN FUND
MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT
BRITISH HEART FOUNDATION
THE ROYAL NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF BLIND PEOPLE
HELP FOR HEROES
MIDLAND AIR AMBULANCE
NOTTINGHAM NEONATAL CHARITY
ST GILES HOSPICE
NATIONAL AUTISTIC SOCIETY
ALZHEIMER’S RESEARCH UK
BIRMINGHAM CHILDREN’S CHARITY
Wedding Caterers and Wedding Beverages for the Midlands, West Midlands, Birmingham, Warwickshire, Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire.
There are many choices for outdoor day & evening catering, i.e street food inspired vans, pizza caravans, crepes vans, sharing platters, food bars, champagne & oyster bars, Spanish paella, vintage cream tea, a doughnut deli, Mexican burritos, barbecue wedding breakfast, ice cream vans, popcorn stands, retro chocolate fountains or vintage ice cream tricycles and much much more………………
A huge tip if your having outdoor wedding catering for your wedding breakfast is to ensure that there is a catering tent or nearby building sufficient for tipi or outdoor catering of your wedding breakfast and the specific food required on the day.
The wedding caterer or your wedding planner or wedding organiser will be able to talk through all of this with you.
Please find some top tips below about wedding catering that we have sourced from Niche Magazine from Dimblebee Catering
Most professional venues handpick and audit caterers before approving them and are probably one of the best indicators of a caterer’s standing and quality. The grander the venue, the more stringent the approval process.
Food Safety Rating
Often overlooked, any commercial caterer must be registered, inspected and rated. Make sure their kitchen address is published and search online for their food safety rating.
Meet up with your potential caterers at their kitchen rather than set up tasting events wherever possible. This will provide a valuable insight into how and where your food is prepared, what size they are, what resources they have in place and how the business is managed.
Quality has a price, if prices or package deals are cheap there will be a reason.
Once you pick your caterer, ask to meet up at their kitchens and sample a few dishes to get a real taste for the catering and to help define your menu choices- the proof is in the pudding so to speak! Simon Cox - Dimblee Catering

Tipi Alternative Beverages or Wedding Beverages
There is such a vast selection of alternative and unique outdoor or indoor wedding beverages that you can choose from now. From Cocktail Bars, Campervan Cocktail Bars, Prosecco horse trailer vans, Prosecco bikes, Gin n pimms trikes, oil drums of beers, mocktails and coffee campervans.
See our suppliers page for wedding beverages, caterers and wedding suppliers to choose from.
We are sure there are many more outdoor or Tipi Wedding Caterers & wedding beverage companies out there to choose from and we would advise asking your wedding venue, tipi supplier or other wedding suppliers which wedding caterers & wedding beverage suppliers they have worked with which they would recommend.
We hope you enjoy the slideshow of images taken at weddings by different companies and at tasting events by the talented Galloping Gourmet.
If you are looking for relaxed, alternative and creative wedding photography too then we would love to chat to you soon :)
