SOME SHINY HAPPY POSITIVE NEWS
ED BROWN PHOTOGRAPHY COMMITS TO #WORKWITHME COMMUNITY- STEPS TOWARDS EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY IN THE WORK ENVIRONMENT
Victoria M Boam and Ed Brown co-owners of Ed Brown Photography & other creative brands, has become the first UK based photography company to take the pledge to tackle disability employment & perceptions in the work environment by joining other forward-thinking companies joining the #WorkWithMe community. Victoria M Boam and Ed Brown are joining a growing business community including Virgin Media, Ford, Deloitte, Elsevier, and JCB - all committed to disability inclusion.
Scope and Virgin Media found that a quarter of businesses (26 per cent) claim that they have never had a disabled candidate for a job interview[1] despite there being a million disabled people who want to work – right now.
The good news is that change isn’t difficult, and businesses have a pivotal role in getting more disabled people into and thriving in the work environment.
#WorkWithMe is a great place to begin and provides:
Opportunities to learn from other businesses and share experiences through:
private chat forums
openly on the website
at member (B2B) events, including roundtable discussions and networking events
Access to disability employment resources, news and information
A simple structure with no membership fees or any requirements to achieve a set pace on the journey
Victoria M Boam & Ed Brown [Business Co Owners] Ed Brown Photography said:
“It’s great that the #WWM resources online are easy to access and free, and we look forward to meeting our fellow community members at future events.”
“When we set up in business well over 10 years ago our business was always inclusive, non-judgemental and progressive, it’s wonderful that we have become the first photographic business that is involved in the initiative that embraces and celebrates wedding photography businesses, not simply the photographer, because taking photos is only a small factor in a successful business and this is now a platform that can show recognition to all in the industry, here’s to a bright inclusive future ahead and we will continue to push for more regulations in this currently unregulated industry. Positive vibes to all you innovative and inclusive business owners.”
Jeff Dodds, Chief Operating Officer, Virgin Media
“If you really want consumers to warm to your brand and associate with your brand, you just need to be representative of them”
“We’re a growing network of committed businesses. We know from our own experience it’s important to make a start, and businesses that do increase disabled talent they employ will thrive.”
“Virgin Media and Scope would like to welcome Ed Brown Photography to the #WorkWithMe community.
